DANIEL MAYÚGBA
I’m a Creative Producer, Director, and Visual Storyteller with a background shaped by entertainment, fashion, and brand-driven content. I specialize in crafting culturally resonant, visually bold narratives that connect audiences with the artists, brands, and stories that move culture forward.
My experience spans Rotten Tomatoes, Fandango, and NBCUniversal, where I developed, pitched, and produced original series across OTT, YouTube, and social platforms. I’ve led campaigns and branded activations in partnership with major studios including Disney, Prime Video, and Universal, and produced exclusive interview features with top Hollywood talent. I also contributed to NBCU’s Emmy-winning documentary Uncommon: Building a Boston Sports Team.
Earlier in my career, I served as a Director and Creative Director for Pogi Studios, where I shaped the studio’s brand voice, led its expansion into Los Angeles, and directed award-winning artist projects — including a short film that screened internationally and won Best Music Video (Paris International Film Festival).
As a freelance director, I’ve created fashion-forward campaigns and editorial films for Flaunt, Numéro Berlin, and GQ, collaborating with global brands such as Netflix, Cartier, and Gentle Monster. These projects sharpened my ability to fuse high-end aesthetics with strong brand identity and cultural awareness.
Across every role, my focus remains the same: to build meaningful creative worlds, elevate brand and artist storytelling, and deliver innovative, multi-platform content that resonates with today’s audiences.
I’m currently open to opportunities in creative direction, brand storytelling, campaign leadership, directing, and creative producing across the entertainment, fashion, gaming, and advertising spaces.
"The extent to which I consider myself an 'artist' has constantly eluded me. I consider myself, first and foremost, a humanist in which my work serves as a compass to explore the human condition. My passion lies in sharing stories and ideas through the cinematic medium. Simply put, I strive not to be looking through the camera to see the world but, rather, be a human of the world who holds a camera.
The intention is to follow in the footsteps of immortal minds, examine their discoveries, and create a visual illustration of what can be called The Life Experience"
